The Apollo 4020P Multiport high-throughput asynchronous controller supports SPARC Solaris, Rev. 8, 9, and 10; Solaris x86, Rev. 2.6, 7, and 8; and Linux kernal 2.4.

The PCI-SB interface card installs in any standard PCI slot including the XP-SB series of PCI expansion chassis. The PCI 2.2 compliant interface card connects to any StarFabric-enabled device via shielded CAT5 cables with RJ-45 connectors. The interface card and any StarFabric-enabled device can be placed up to 10 meters apart. The PCI-SB is compatible with 64-bit/66 MHz and 32-bit/33 MHz bus speeds. Featuring two 2.5 Gbps, full duplex StarFabric serial links, the PCI-SB translates PCI traffic into serial frame format for transmission across the switch fabric or directly to a remote StarFabric-enabled device.

The PMC-SB is PICMG 2.17 compliant and mounts on a CompactPCI or VME64 PMC carrier to provide a StarFabric interface. The PMC-SB converts a conventional parallel 32- or 64-bit PCI bus operating at up to 66 MHz to dual high-speed serial links compliant with the StarFabric protocol. The two links may be used separately for redundant fabric applications or may be aggregated for higher speed operation.
