There is a growing need for real-time, remote video connections for sophisticated surveillance, vehicle autonomy and situational awareness applications. While it is relatively easy to connect and receive high quality video streams with a more stationary platform such as a desktop computer, it becomes a significantly larger challenge in a non-equipment-friendly environment as processing power, system power dissipation, data bandwidth, data connectivity and video latency all become critically important components in processing and managing multiple channels of real-time video in a harsh environment. Based on Beyond Electronics' real-time secure video/audio capture and process technology, SIE Computing Solutions' application-ready video processing solution is specifically designed for rugged situational awareness in unmanned vehicle and remote surveillance applications.

The network-ready solution provides advanced video processing capabilities including low-latency and real-time video streaming over a network and can be used in applications such as serial UAVs, remote surveillance, mining, transportation, homeland security, border control, exploration of radioactive environments, oil and gas exploration, and more. Advanced situational awareness overlay capabilities allow a remote driver to see a detailed depiction of the surrounding terrain, with key spatial information elements of interest (such as the identification of potential obstacles, altitude, navigation, etc.) highlighted directly on the video image.

The software-agnostic video processing solution uses standard building blocks and features full integration of board sets, backplanes, power/cooling and I/O. The hardware system also includes the ability to rapidly encrypt/decrypt data, efficient storage and retrieval of actionable data and multiple video inputs of up to four per card
