Mechanical Design Engineer I
To plan, coordinate and control engineering activities associated with the design and other technical aspects of electro-mechanical designs for military, telecom and commercial products.
Responsibilities:· Perform formal detail drafting utilizing CAD system.· Create bill of materials.· Ensure design integrity of projects to meet SIE customer and industry standards and specifications.· Provide scheduling reports, cost estimates and testing to appropriate personnel.· Interface with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales/Marketing on product discrepancies or improvements.· Accurately quote layout work and drive to meet committed schedules· Adapt to changing customer requirements· Ensure compliance with Manufacturing Design Standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent from four-year college or technical school; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with solid modeling, utilizing a CAD system, with Pro-E Wildfire and Pro-E Intralink experience a plus.
- Knowledge of drafting standard ANSI Y14.5 and experience with Electronic Packaging and Sheet Metal Design a plus.
- Understanding of orthographic projection.
- Understanding of tolerance stackups.
- Self-motivated, detail oriented and organized
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem solving skills
